Dog Star Signs: What Does It Say About Their Personality?
Whether you’ve got a sassy samoyed, a bouncy beagle or a cheeky cavalier – astrologists have long believed that our dog’s personalities are written in the stars. And by getting to know your dog’s zodiac sign, you can better understand their attitude, strengths, weaknesses and compatibility.
Similar to humans, astrologists believe dogs fall under the 12 zodiac signs. So, regardless of whether you’re an astrology advocate or a little skeptic, you have to admit, we’d all love to get to know our doggos a little better… Read on.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
The Goat
Energetic, hard-working and ambitious, Capricorn doggos love to exercise. Their disciplined nature makes them easy to train, and they embrace the opportunity to learn new tricks! They make great working dogs or guard dogs, suited to an active, fun-loving family.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Water-Bearer
Intelligent, energetic and a little rebellious, Aquarius dogs will keep you on your toes. They’re not really phased about what others are doing, they just go about their business with an eccentric and sometimes stubborn nature. They’re often unpredictable (what are they up to now?!) but you can’t help but adore their social, fun-loving nature
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
The Fish
Pisces puppers are gentle, sweet and wise beyond their years. They’re highly intuitive and sensitive to emotions, making them the ideal companion to comfort you when you’re sad. They have a peaceful, non-aggressive nature, and you’ll often find them lounging around in all the soft and squishy places.
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
Ram
In a word: confidence. Aries dogs are enthusiastic, courageous and thrive when they’re the boss. They’re independent and fiery, which means they don’t always come when they’re called. But beneath their boss-like exterior, they have a big, beautiful heart that will instantly win you over.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Bull
The Taurus dog loves the good things in life. Basking in the sun. Lazing on the couch. Getting a belly rub. They’re incredibly stubborn and loyal, which means they’re often a little protective of you. They have an innate need to feel safe, and for this reason, they often don’t like loud noises or change (how dare you walk me at 10am instead of 8am).
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
Twins
Curious, sociable and ready for fun! The Gemini dog loves human companionship (they’re not necessarily loyal to one person – they love everyone). They’re often quite vocal – whether it’s the postman, play time or a new friend – you bet they’ll bark about it! You’ll fall in love with the Gemini dog for their affectionate, attention-loving personality.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
Crab
The Cancer dog is nurturing, compassionate and loyal. As sensitive little beings, these dogs feel at home in a safe, cozy environment with the people they love (and lots of positive reinforcement). They make great companions for other dogs. Finally, you’ll want to hide the dog food – Cancer dogs are often gobble guts!
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Lion
Bold, confident and a little bit silly. A Leo dog thrives when they’re the centre of attention – whether that’s being coddled at the dog park or getting their daily dose of pampering. They love the outdoors and burning energy, plus they usually have good recall because loyalty is the name of the game.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Maiden
By nature, Virgo dogs are strong, loyal and kind-hearted. They’re incredibly hard-working toward the things that they want (just try teaching them a new trick). Like Taurus, Virgo dogs don’t like change. They thrive in a routine environment (same things, different day).
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Scales
Social and lovey-dovey, Libras draw their energy from others (whether that’s dogs or humans). They hate being alone, so be prepared to be followed around everywhere (yes, even the toilet). They make great companions for other dogs, as they’re affectionate, peaceful and conflict-averse.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Scorpion
Scorpio dogs are passionate (in every sense of the word). They’re intense, strong-willed and intuitive, often favouring deep, loyal relationships with one or two people – rather than being friendly to everyone. It takes time to earn a Scorpio’s trust, but when you do, they’ll stick by your side for life.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
Archer
Bouncy, optimistic and full of pep! The Sagittarius dog is always up for a big adventure outdoors. They love to run amuck at the local dog park, and they embrace change, feet (paw) first. They’re easy-going companions, and from the outside, it always looks like they’re having fun.
So, does your best friend match their star sign?
Are there elements of truth?
Or are they wildly different?
Like humans, no two dogs are the same. They’re shaped by their environment and experiences. But understanding your dog’s zodiac sign may give you a glimpse into their world, helping you better connect and appreciate them.

Great quality soaps. I brought some for myself and my French bulldog. We both love using them. Very easy to use. They smell fantastic.
